NFL Fantasy Football Week 7

It is a week of byes!  Half of my wide receivers and running backs are off this week, so there was a mad rush to try to pick up the best remaining options from the waiver wire.  This is the team I am working with this week:

Starting:
QB1 - Joe Flacco
QB2 - Matt Cassel
WR1 - Roddy White
WR2 - Mike Williams
WR3 - Patrick Crayton
RB1 - Frank Gore
RB2 - Chris Ivory
TE - Antonio Gates
K - Stepen Gostkowski
DEF - New Orleans Saints

Bench:
QB - Jay Cutler
QB - Michael Vick
WR - Andre Johnson (Bye)
WR - Calvin Johnson (Bye)
RB - Arian Foster (Bye)
RB - Jahvid Best (Bye)

It is going to be a tough week as I am up against a team with Aaron Rogers and Larry Fitzgerald.  Lets see how it plays out.  Good luck to me!

NFL Fantasy Football Week 6

After starting 3-0 in my fantasy football league, I have suffered close defeats in the last 2 weeks due to injuries.  It's week 6 now and my team is:

Starting:
QB1 - Jay Cutler
QB 2 - Joe Flacco
WR1 - Andre Johnson
WR2 - Roddy White
WR3 - Kenny Britt
RB1 - Frank Gore
RB2 - Arian Foster
TE - Antonio Gates
K - Garrett Hartley
DEF - New Orleans Saints

Bench:
QB - Michael Vick, Mark Sanchez
WR - Calvin Johnson (injury!)
RB - Jahvid Best
TE - Aaron Hernandez
DEF - Minnesota

Calvin Johnson has been pretty good for me this season but he is questionable for this week due to the shoulder/knee injury.  Still no word whether he will start or not, but he is going against New York Giants who have a great defense and is the team that I support!  So, I picked Kenny Britt from the waivers and am starting him.  Hope this team does the trick.

I am up against a guy who I beat in week 1, but his team has improved since then.  He has both Brett Favre and Randy Moss so any touchdown in the Minnesota game to Moss is going to hurt me twice.  He also has Matt Forte and Adrian Peterson.

Good luck to me in my quest for Win # 4 this week!

Congratulations Yankees on winning the ALDS 2010 !

Solid pitching by Phil Hughes in Game 3 against the Twins, along with the consistent bats of our hitters enabled the Yankees to sweep the series.

The opponents of the next level are not known yet.  Lets enjoy this moment but still keep the eyes on the main prize - the World Series 2010!

Sports is definitely the best form of entertainment

These days the entertainment on the TV is full of reality shows and celebrity news.  A lot of it is basically trash TV which I find extremely irritating.

If it wasn't for sports, there would be absolutely no reason for me to own a TV set.  With sports you have the element of unpredictability and surprise.  A team with no hope to win can find courage in the final moments of the game and beat the clear favorites.  Sports allow individuals to become heroes and underdogs to become a force to be reckoned with.  It is definitely the best form of entertainment!
